Description
Semaglutide research peptide
Semaglutide is a long-acting synthetic analogue of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). It was modified with an amino-acid substitution and a fatty-acid side chain so that it stays in circulation far longer than native GLP-1. It is one of the most extensively characterised GLP-1 receptor agonists in metabolic research. Pure Rawz supplies semaglutide as a lyophilised research peptide.

What research has examined
- GLP-1 receptor signalling: glucose-dependent insulin secretion, glucagon regulation and gastric emptying.
- Appetite and energy-balance pathways: how GLP-1 receptor activation in the brain influences satiety signalling.
- Large clinical trial programmes: semaglutide has been studied extensively in randomised trials, including the STEP programme published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Regulatory status
Approved semaglutide medicines are prescription-only, licensed products made by their manufacturer. The material sold here is a research chemical. It is not one of those medicines, it is not approved for any use in humans, and it must not be used as a substitute for them.
Storage and handling
Store lyophilised vials refrigerated or frozen, protected from light. Reconstitute using a suitable sterile diluent under aseptic conditions and refrigerate the solution. See our peptide reconstitution guide.
