Description
BPC-157 research peptide
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide based on a sequence first identified in a protein from human gastric juice. It is one of the most widely studied research peptides, and Pure Rawz supplies it in several formats for laboratory work.

What research has examined
Most published BPC-157 research is preclinical, carried out in cell culture and rodent models. The main areas studied are:
- Gastrointestinal models: mucosal integrity and lesion models, reflecting the peptide’s gastric origin.
- Tendon, ligament and muscle models: tissue organisation after controlled injury in animals.
- Vascular and signalling pathways: angiogenesis, the nitric oxide system and growth-factor signalling.
Controlled human data are very limited, and animal findings don’t reliably predict effects in people. For a fuller summary, read our article What is BPC-157?
Regulatory status
This compound is not an approved medicine. The FDA lists it among bulk drug substances that may present significant safety risks in compounding, and it is prohibited in sport by WADA.
Storage and handling
Store lyophilised vials cold, dry and away from light. Reconstitute with a suitable sterile diluent such as bacteriostatic water using aseptic technique, then keep solutions refrigerated. See our peptide reconstitution guide.
